The San Juan de Capistrano Pueblo are so called because they are constructed at low level
and nestle into the hills as opposed to being part of a tall concrete tower block. The view from
the large terrace is over San Juan de Capistrano, Nerja and the sea. The terrace also has
outdoor lights so that you can relax and have that early cocktail on the terrace. |

It will be difficult to find anywhere in Europe with a greater number of good restaurants than there are tucked away amidst the streets of this old Spanish town - in summer and in winter. Apart from the 14 beach restaurants that are an attractive feature of the place, the winding streets that focus on the Balcon de Europa are packed with bars and restaurants, as is the new part of the town with several nightclubs discretely tucked away. Remember most restaurants in Spain have a special good value meal |
- ask for the "Menu del Dia", a three-course meal at a special low price. Also try the famous, locally made Frigliana wine.
The area is protected by two spectacular mountain ranges, the Sierra Almijara and the snow capped peaks of the Sierra Nevada. A superb drive along winding mountain roads through the famed city of Granada takes you to the breathtaking views of the Sierra Nevada with its popular ski resort. The scenery is magnificent and the splendour of the high mountain passes superb. To explore the surrounding countryside from Nerja is a delight. You will discover unspoilt picturesque villages like Frigliana (6 kms), Maro (2 kms) and Competa (20 kms) all beautifully cared for by the relaxed and friendly people. Here you will find traditional farming methods still in evidence, ploughs drawn by bullocks or the farm worker making his way home on the back of a contented donkey. Nobody hurries but the work still gets done.
